People at risk of suicide often require support across a range of settings and services as they seek care that is meaningful, compassionate and recovery oriented. Despite the intention to provide a seamless continuity across all phases of care, the reality remains that at times people still find themselves ‘falling through the cracks’ placing their safety in jeopardy.
LifeSpan Newcastle and Black Dog Institute invite professionals to join a panel of researchers, clinicians and lived experience representatives to discuss some of the identified obstacles to continuity of care spanning across the context of primary care through to acute treatment settings in both the public and private sector, and explore some of the promising new approaches to addressing these in our local region.
This forum is suitable for GPs, psychologists, allied health, and other mental health professionals and is free to attend.
