YRBD Songwriting Workshop


The Youth Rockin’ the Black Dog (YRBD) Songwriting and Professional Development Workshop is a free one-day workshop for young musicians (12 - 25 years). The workshop is facilitated by the National Music Academy and is designed to give young musicians the musical tools and knowledge required to become a professional working musician and artist in the 21st century.

Participants will learn how to develop a song, write lyrics and be provided with a variety of tools to assist with becoming a professional artist. Award-winning Newcastle-based singer-songwriter Amy Vee will also make a guest appearance on the day to talk to young musicians about her own musical journey and ways she takes care of her mental health.
